Family restructuring can be one of the most stressful periods in a child’s life. Research consistently shows that children’s long-term adjustment is shaped less by the separation itself and more by how conflict is managed and how supported they feel during the transition. Our Separation & Divorce services are designed to reduce exposure to conflict, strengthen emotional security, and help families move forward in a child-focused way.

Under this discipline, families may access:
1) Steady Steps – A structured, evidence-informed peer group for children navigating parental separation. Led by a provisional psychologist, the group focuses on emotional regulation, coping skills, and connection with other children experiencing similar changes.

2) Structured Co-Parenting Conflict Resolution (SCCR) – A 10-session, research-based program delivered by a Registered Psychologist to help parents reduce conflict, improve communication, and refocus decision-making on the best interests of their child.

These services are grounded in attachment research, developmental psychology, and evidence on interparental conflict, with the goal of protecting children’s mental health while supporting families through transition.
